Live on 5

SO I got up at 3:20am this morning,
Gear packed by ten of four..
Setup by 4:30am
Quick rundown of the tunes, and then shhhhhhhh...

My first time on "Real" television went great!! Channel 5 Bangor.. (cbs)
Between five and seven am we played two whole tunes and a bunch of teaser spots.
Great crew there really fun to work with and full of energy at that ungodly hour...
I'd like to thank Shawn for giving me that exciting experience!
That's www.shawnmercer.com for the upcoming gig schedule..

Now I have to take a nap for an audition on Augusta tonight.. You all know this bitch needs his beauty sleep.. ;)

Got contacted by The Genetics yesterday. The CD I had the pleasure of laying some tracks for is complete!! Mixed and mastered superbly! Let me tell you it sounds fu$%&$%* awesome!! Can't wait till you all can get a taste! remember to check out www.thegenetics.com as I'm sure they'll post the new tracks up there soon. I'm setting up a travel date to go down and lay some more tracks and make plans for their live gigs coming soon!

Peace out from Bass land,
Brad

"To all the Tierney's I've loved before..."

Yeah so I got scolded for not blogging engough.. Whats news here? Besides the crazy snow being dumped on us right now.. I'm playing on the CBS channel 5 affiliate here in Bangor on wed the 21st at between 5-7 am... Wahoo, me on TV! Not cable access. The dude abides..
I'm also auditioning for a cover group in augusta on sunday. While you all know that's not really my thing, I gotta earn my bread too. I've actually been on the hunt for another "Real" job lately. But I feel VERY strongly that I may not need one very soon. I've been meeting some very cool people that may turn into paying gig contacts. I've been trying to practice like mad to make sure, when the opportunity arises I will be up to the challenge. Even started working on my sight reading skills a bit. (notes 80/100 Rythms 80/100 together in time 40/100 lol)
I met "THE GUY" up here the other day. A really nice guy, awesome tech and regular player. We got talking and he mentioned using subs on a regular basis! OMG hope that there is actually a professional level music scene to be found here!!
Wish me luck and get your asses up here...
you know who you are..

Smarmy remarks

Everyone has something to say. And quite often the person doing the talking is under the impression that they are better informed on the topic than the listener.
Then there are the times when the talker doesn't believe the listener understands the speakers meanings or intentions. Then the talker proceeds to repeat his or herself ad nauseum, re-phrasing everything to the point of confusion without need.Frustration on the part of the listener is misinterpreted by the speaker and both parties are wondering why the conversation ever took place. But both for different reasons.

I'm of the opinion that we cannot separate ourselves from our own points of view.
Sure we can "try and see if from their perspective" but that's still subjective to our reasoning of what their perspective might be.

Say what we mean, mean what we say. And if we're not sure if we got out point across, or worse think that we may have given the wrong impression to someone..
Screw it, we did our best to express what we were trying to communicate.
I find more complications in trying to explain something I've said rather than just living with it.

Do you know what I'm trying to say? (ha)
